Hereinafter referred to as the “hotel” or the “accommodation provider”. Any natural or legal person ordering services is hereinafter referred to as the “guest” or the “customer”.

2. Scope and application

These General Terms and Conditions govern the rights and obligations of the hotel and the customer when booking accommodation and related services, particularly through the hotel’s website, online booking system, email, telephone or in person.

Reservations made through an external booking platform may primarily be governed by the terms displayed on that platform. A written individual agreement or the specific terms of a particular rate or quotation shall take precedence over these Terms and Conditions.

3. Reservation and formation of the contract

  1. When making a reservation, the customer shall provide complete and accurate information necessary for processing it, particularly their name, contact details, dates of stay, number of guests and the selected room type or service.
  2. Before submitting an online reservation, the customer may check and correct the information entered.
  3. A reservation becomes binding when the hotel sends a reservation confirmation to the email address provided or when payment is successfully completed if payment is required to confirm the selected rate.
  4. The reservation confirmation contains its essential details. The customer shall notify the hotel of any discrepancies without delay.
  5. Depending on the selected rate, the hotel may require a deposit, payment-card pre-authorisation or full advance payment.
The conditions displayed with the particular offer are decisive. Where a special rate, such as a non-refundable rate, is selected, its payment and cancellation conditions shall take precedence.

4. Prices, VAT and local tax

Prices are quoted in euros and include VAT unless expressly stated otherwise in the particular offer. Services included in the price are specified in the offer and reservation confirmation.

The accommodation price may vary according to the dates, occupancy, room type, number of guests, length of stay and selected rate. The price confirmed by the hotel is binding on the customer.

The local accommodation tax is not included unless the booking process or confirmation states otherwise. Its amount and any exemptions are governed by the currently applicable generally binding regulation of the City of Trnava. The hotel currently states a local tax of EUR 2 per person per night. Upon request, the guest shall provide evidence of their entitlement to an exemption or reduction.

Before an online reservation is submitted with an obligation to pay, the customer will be shown the final price and all known mandatory charges or the method used to calculate them.

5. Payment terms and card payments

Depending on the selected offer, payment may be made online by payment card, bank transfer, payment link or directly at the hotel. Available payment methods are displayed during the booking process or specified in the hotel’s quotation.

For an online card payment, the customer is redirected to the secure payment environment of the payment service provider. As a rule, the hotel does not process or store full payment-card details; it only receives information necessary to identify and record the payment. Processing of the payment and any cardholder verification are subject to the terms of the relevant provider and card issuer.

Payment is deemed completed only after successful confirmation. If payment is not completed within the specified period, the hotel may decline to confirm the reservation or cancel it after prior notice. Any fees charged by the customer’s bank or card issuer shall be borne by the customer.

The hotel will issue an accounting document in accordance with applicable legislation. Customers requiring an invoice made out to a legal entity must provide accurate billing information no later than upon arrival and preferably when making the reservation.

6. Changes to a reservation

A request to change the dates, number of guests, room type or scope of services must be sent to the hotel as soon as possible. A change is effective only after written confirmation by the hotel, is subject to availability and may result in a price change.

If the hotel cannot confirm the requested change and the customer does not wish to use the original reservation, the applicable cancellation conditions shall apply.

7. Cancellation, cancellation fees and no-show

Unless a particular offer, rate or reservation confirmation provides otherwise, the following cancellation terms apply when a binding reservation is cancelled by the customer:

Individual reservations

CancellationCancellation fee
More than 48 hours before arrivalfree of charge
Less than 48 hours before arrival100% of the price of the first night
Failure to arrive without cancellation (no-show)100% of the total reservation price

Group reservations

A group reservation is a reservation of 10 or more rooms for the same stay dates. A reservation of 1 to 9 rooms is considered an individual reservation.

CancellationCancellation fee
More than 14 days before arrivalfree of charge
14 to 2 days before arrival50% of the reservation price
Less than 2 days before arrival or no-show100% of the reservation price

Cancellation fees are calculated from the reservation price excluding the local accommodation tax.

A cancellation must be delivered to the hotel by email at recepcia@hotelspectrum.sk or by another verifiable method. The time of delivery to the hotel is decisive.

For a non-refundable rate, the amount specified at the time of booking, normally 100% of the price, is charged without entitlement to a refund in the event of cancellation, amendment or no-show. The hotel may set off the cancellation fee against any payment already received.

Early termination of the stay by the guest for reasons not attributable to the hotel does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund for unused nights or services.

8. Refunds

Where the customer is entitled to a full or partial refund, the hotel will return the relevant amount, less any applicable cancellation fee, by the same payment method used for the original payment unless the parties agree otherwise or technical or legal reasons prevent this.

The hotel will initiate the refund without undue delay, normally within 14 days after the entitlement has been approved. The time required for the amount to be credited may depend on the bank, card company or payment service provider. The hotel is not responsible for their processing times.

If, in exceptional circumstances, the hotel is unable to provide confirmed accommodation for a reason attributable to the hotel, it will offer a reasonable alternative or refund the price of services not provided.

9. Arrival, departure and accommodation rules

  • Check-in: from 2:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
  • Check-out: by 10:00 a.m. on the departure date.
  • Arrival after 9:30 p.m. must be agreed with reception in advance; the hotel may require advance payment for the stay.
  • Upon arrival, the guest shall present a valid identity document and provide information required by law.
  • Early check-in or late check-out is subject to prior agreement and may be charged separately.
  • The number of persons staying in a room may not exceed the confirmed capacity. Undeclared guests may be charged additionally or refused accommodation.

The guest shall comply with the hotel’s accommodation rules, safety and fire regulations, quiet hours and reasonable staff instructions. Serious or repeated breaches may result in termination of the stay without entitlement to a refund.

10. Rights and obligations of the hotel and guest

The hotel shall provide the confirmed services in the agreed scope and quality. If the exact room type booked cannot be provided for serious operational reasons, the hotel may offer a room of the same or a higher category without an additional charge or another reasonable solution.

The guest shall use the hotel’s facilities properly, prevent damage, respect the rights of other guests and report faults or damage without delay. The person making the reservation is responsible for informing all other guests covered by it of these Terms and Conditions.

The hotel will consider special requests stated in the reservation where reasonably possible, but they are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed.

11. Liability for damage and service limitations

The guest is liable for damage caused to hotel property by the guest or persons for whom the guest is responsible and shall reimburse the reasonable cost of remedying such damage.

The hotel is liable for damage and for items brought into or deposited at the hotel to the extent prescribed by generally binding legislation. Guests are advised to place valuables and larger amounts of cash in hotel custody where such a service is available.

The hotel is not liable for failure to perform caused by circumstances that it could not reasonably control or prevent, including intervention by public authorities, power or network outages, natural disasters, epidemics, serious technical failures or other extraordinary events. This does not affect consumer rights that cannot be contractually excluded.

12. Complaints and remedy of deficiencies

The guest is entitled to receive services in the agreed scope and quality. Any deficiency must be reported to reception without undue delay, preferably during the stay, so that the hotel has an opportunity to remedy it.

A complaint may be submitted in person at reception, by email to recepcia@hotelspectrum.sk, or in writing to the hotel’s registered address. It should identify the guest and reservation, describe the deficiency, state when it was discovered and specify the requested remedy. Providing available documents or photographs may expedite its handling.

The hotel will issue written confirmation that a defect has been reported and will deal with the complaint within the period and in the manner required by applicable law.

13. Consumer rights and alternative dispute resolution

Withdrawal from a distance contract

For a contract concerning the provision of accommodation services for purposes other than residential purposes, where the service is to be provided on a specific date or during a specific period, the consumer does not have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days. The right to cancel a reservation is therefore governed by the conditions of the selected rate and Article 7 of these Terms and Conditions.

Alternative dispute resolution

If a consumer is dissatisfied with how the hotel has handled a complaint or believes that the hotel has infringed their rights, the consumer may request a remedy from the hotel. If the hotel rejects the request or fails to respond within 30 days of its submission, the consumer may submit a proposal to initiate alternative dispute resolution to the competent entity.

Website: www.soi.sk

This does not affect the right to bring the matter before a competent court. The European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform ceased operating on 20 July 2025.

14. Personal data protection

The hotel processes personal data principally to manage reservations, perform contracts, maintain statutory records and accounts, protect its legitimate rights and communicate with guests. Further information about personal-data processing, data-subject rights and contact options is provided in the separate Privacy Policy published on the hotel’s website.

15. Final provisions

Legal relationships not governed by these Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of the Slovak Republic, particularly the Slovak Civil Code, the Slovak Commercial Code where applicable, and consumer-protection legislation. A choice of law shall not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of the country of their habitual residence.

If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The hotel may amend these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary; a reservation is governed by the version effective when it was made unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.

These General Terms and Conditions take effect on 18 September 2026.
